Laura Whyte

Laura is the founder and Managing Director of Whyfield. On recognising that the rise of digital accountancy presented a great opportunity, she was inspired to start the business and form a more modern firm.
She has previously worked within both industry and practice. She began her career at a large accounting firm and subsequently ran the finance department at a busy regional construction company. With a range of qualifications under her belt, Laura has progressed her studies alongside growing Whyfield, and is always keen to build her knowledge to be able to support clients.
Laura’s outstanding commitment to the profession and supporting businesses has resulted in her winning several awards, including Business Person of the Year, Most Influential Business Person in Cornwall, and IAB’s Small Business Mentor of the Year. She was also a double finalist at the National Women’s Awards, and a finalist at the international AAT Awards.
When she’s not in the office, Laura can be found at the gym, or working on her ‘side hustles’ which include her position as Vice Chair and Finance Director of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, Finance Director of a Cornish Gin Company, and Treasurer of a Veteran’s Charity.
