Truro-based accountancy firm Whyfield are celebrating a significant win with the hugely successful Unlocking Potential mentoring programme.
Unlocking Potential has been working with businesses and graduates in Cornwall for over ten years, helping people develop and businesses grow. Their mission is to unlock the potential within each person or business that they work with. Through strong relationships, they help businesses grow, create as many jobs and opportunities as they can; develop talent, make connections and tap into knowledge and expertise to help create a vibrant and sustainable local economy.
Commenting on the news, Whyfield Managing Director, Laura Whyte said: “When we started Whyfield we knew we wanted to be different, setting ourselves aside from the rest. One of the ways we do that is by investing in the future and the Unlocking Potential programme does exactly that. Working with people to help them develop the skills they need isn’t just about ticking the ‘CSR box’, it’s about taking a wider responsibly for the local economy and society as a whole and not just Whyfield as a business.”
Whilst working on the the previous Unlocking Potential brief, Whyfield worked closely with Vicky Edwards whose retreat based business Orchard Air benefitted hugely from mentoring time with the accountancy firm.
Commenting on her experience Vicky said: “The opportunity to work with Whyfield, even for a short period of time, was a real eye opener for myself and my business … not all accountants are the same and they have a real ability to communicate in a way that real businesses and real people understand. That wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the Unlocking Potential programme and I’m grateful for that.”
